Sculptophoria.

Exploring procedural sculptures where shape, texture, and lighting communicate emotion.

This collection of images is an exploration in creating 3D, procedural, abstract sculptures—where shape, texture, and lighting represent various emotions. I have always been drawn to the magic of lighting and how color, highlight, and shadow can evoke emotion almost independently of the subject. As a quick independent study in between projects, I built a procedural system to randomly generate abstract sculptures, added some simple eyes, and used color and light to represent a range of different emotions - like anger, nervousness, depression, contentment, confusion, and more.

While large-scale short films remain my core passion, I find a lot of value in these quick creative exercises—small, spontaneous projects that push new techniques and ideas without the weight of developing a broad narrative or more complex worlds. These studies are moments of pure exploration, allowing me to refine workflows, test visual storytelling in its simplest form, and most importantly, create for the sheer joy of it.
