Brompton C-Line
This self-initiated spec project was inspired by Brompton’s C-Line, a folding bike that is anything but ordinary. In looking for a fun exploratory project, I saw an opportunity to create a product video that echoed Brompton’s values of versatility, momentum, and originality. The short piece traces the bike’s evolution from idea to final product: beginning with the “Made in England” tag, moving through abstract explorations of folding, then assembling piece by piece until the frame clicks into place. From there, the momentum carries forward to showcase the C-Line’s adaptability, full range of motion, and bold color options. Playful, inventive, and narrative-driven, the piece aims to find a middle ground in Brompton’s design philosophy and the Ambient Press passion for storytelling.
The goal with this video was to create something quick, captivating, and full of personality. Drawing from Brompton’s expansive color palette and unique design language, we created motion studies, simulations, and transitions that added as much energy as possible to the final video. In the end, each shot flows into the next, holding viewer attention and inspiring a sense of joy and wonder.
Like the past work at Ambient Press with short films, this piece was guided by the principles of bold movement, a strong sense of rhythm, and visual storytelling that leads the viewer from moment to moment. Even within a product-focused video, the goal was to preserve the playfulness and emotion that defines my directing style.
Beyond the core film, the final assets were delivered in multiple formats and styles. Vertical, horizontal, square format. Long and short. From punchy social cutdowns to website visuals and stills for wider campaigns. This project demonstrates how a single creative concept can generate a complete suite of useful video and static materials. Cohesive, flexible, and entertaining.
